Series Therapy

DESERET BIOLOGICALS BARTONELLA SERIES THERAPY
Bartonella is often found as a co-infection with Lyme Disease. This Series Therapy may be used in conjunction with Borrelia Remedy. The most common disease resulting from Bartonella infection is Cat Scratch Fever or Cat-scratch disease. Symptoms include sterile suppurative papules, slight fever, headache, chills, backache, abdominal pain, malaise, alteration of mental status, and convulsions. It may take 7 days to two months for Bartonella symptoms appear. Most cases are benign and self-limiting, but lymphadenopathy may persist for several months after other symptoms disappear. The prognosis is generally favorable within one month. Most cases occur in fall and winter in temperate climates. In immunocompromised patients more severe complications sometimes occur. Bartonella infection has also been linked to Bacillary angiomatosis, Bacillary peliosis, Endocarditis, Bacteremia with fever, Carrion's disease, Myocarditis, Neuroretinitis and Trench Fever. Homeless IV drug users are at increased infection risk. Transmission and Host Sources: Transmitters are blood-sucking arthropods including ticks, fleas and body louse. Reservoir hosts are mammals such as domesticated cats, mice, squirrels, rats and dogs. Bartonella Infection Cycle: Immediately after infection, the bacteria colonize a primary niche, the endothelial cells. Every 5 days a part of the Bartonella in the endothelial cells are released in the blood stream where they infect erythrocytes. The bacteria then invade and replicate inside the erythrocytes where they multiply to a certain density, and where the erythrocyte is still functioning properly. At this point, the Bartonella simply wait to be taken with the erythrocytes by a blood-sucking arthropod. Bartonella and Lyme Disease Co-infection; Physicians first reported in 2001 that patients were co-infected with Bartonella and Lyme Disease. Multiple reports of this finding indicate that Bartonella is a tick-transmitted pathogen. Therefore, Lyme patients should be tested for Bartonella co-infection and treated accordingly. It is important to remember, in treating these conditions homeopathically, to include Drainage Remedies and Smart Silver as part of a successful therapy. Ingredients: BARTONELLA (7 STRAINS); one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. Indications: For temporary relief of symptoms related to Cat Scratch Fever or Cat-scratch disease including sterile suppurative papules, slight fever, headache, chills, backache, abdominal pain, malaise, alteration of mental status, and convulsions.

DESERET BIOLOGICALS BORRELIA SERIES THERAPY
Conventional treatment has proven largely ineffective in treating the pain and fatigue associated with Lyme Disease. Many Patients are labeled with Chronic Fatigue, or ˇ§Itˇ¦s all in their headˇ¨. The cause, Borrelia burgdorferi is a spiral-shaped bacterium similar in shape and appearance to the spirochete which causes Syphilis, is transferred to the host from a tick bite or other means. It is often accompanied by the Babesia microti parasite, the Ehrlichia bacteria which play havoc with the immune systems, and Bartonella. Lyme patients generally display a particular set of symptoms that have been defined into three progressive stages: Stage I Symptoms: Early infection - one to four weeks 60 to 90% of Borrelia burgdorferi infections cause a ˇ§bulls-eyeˇ¨ rash around the area where the tick bite occurred. This rash can appear from one to four weeks following the bite. The rash is called an erythema chronicum migrans (ECM). Such a rash is usually a sure sign of Lyme Disease. Because the rash is not associated with pain, itching or other discomfort it is easily ignored. Other flu-like symptoms can be more pronounced, such as chills, fever, recurrent headaches, or fatigue, joint and muscle pains, loss of appetite Stage II: Intermediate infection - one to four months Several weeks or months following the tick bite 5 to 10 percent of those infected with Borrelia may experience transient heart dysfunction. Such symptoms can exist undetected by the patient, but are apparent to a physician under close observation. These heart irregularities usually persist for a week to ten days and then disappear. In addition, neurological abnormalities may begin to show. These include headaches, profound fatigue, Meningitis, cranial nerve problems (neuropathies) including facial palsies. Sensory and motor nerve problems have also been observed. Stage III Symptoms: Late persistent infections If Lyme Disease is not treated promptly following infection there is a strong danger that severe "arthritic" symptoms will develop. These manifestations will relate to the joints, nerves, skin and brain. Ingredients: One vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. Also available in 1M and 10M dilutions in boxes of ten. Includes the following: BORRELIA: a genus of small flexible spirochetes of the family Spirochaetaceae that are parasites of humans and warm-blooded animals and is the causative agents of Lyme Disease. (B. burgdorferi). BABESIA: any of the sporozoans of the genus Babesia or sometimes the family Babesiidae that are parasitic in mammalian red blood cells (as in Texas fever) and are transmited by the bite of a tick ˇV called also piroplasm. EHRLICHIA Indications: For temporary relief of symptoms related to Lyme Disease including rash, fever, chills, fatigue, migratory joint pain, memory loss, sleep problems, and rapid heart beat. : a genus of gram-negative nonmotile rickettsial bacteria that are intracellular parasites infecting the cytoplasm of reticuloendothelial cells and circulating leukocytes but not erythrocytes.

DESERET BIOLOGICALS BRUCELLA SERIES THERAPY
Brucellosis, also called undulant fever, or Malta fever, in humans is a highly contagious zoonosis (infectious disease transmitted from animals to humans) caused by eating of raw minced meat is also a common cause of the infection Brucella. Brucella spp. are small, gram-negative, non-motile, non-spore-forming rods. Brucella spp. are facultative intracellular parasites causing chronic disease, which usually persists for life. Brucellosis is a bacterial disease of both humans and animals recognized since the 19th century. Species infecting domestic livestock are B. melitensis (goats and sheep), B. suis (pigs, see Swine brucellosis), B. abortus (cattle and bison), B. ovis (sheep), and B. canis (dogs). B. abortus also infects bison and elk in North America and B. suis is endemic in caribou. Routes to transmission to humans include direct contact with animals or their secretions through cuts and abrasions in the skin, by way of infected aerosols inhaled or inoculated into the conjunctival sac of the eyes, or via the ingestion of unpasteurized dairy products. The disease is transmitted primarily through contaminated or untreated milk (and its derivatives) or through direct contact with infected animals, which may include dogs, pigs, camels and ruminants, primarily sheep, goats, cattle, bison. This also includes contact with their carcasses. Infection may also occur by ingesting contaminated grass, roughage, feed, or water. Once the susceptible animal ingests the organism, the bacterium progresses to the regional lymph nodes where it resides during the incubation period. The incubation period is the time between inoculation (entry into the host) and the appearance of signs and symptoms of the disease, and may range from two weeks to two months and longer in case of brucellosis. After a subsequent brief phase when the bacteria are in the bloodstream, the organism colonize the uterus, placenta, udder, and/or regional lymph nodes. Although the most common clinical sign of brucellosis in cattle is abortion, no overt clinical signs may be seen with it. Brucellosis induces inconstant fevers, sweating, weakness, anemia, headaches, depression and muscular and bodily pain. Ingredients: BRUCELLOSIS ABORTUS, BRUCELLOSIS CANIS, BRUCELLOSIS MELITENSIS; one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 6. Indications: For temporary relief of symptoms related to Brucellla infection including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, fever, sweats, malaise, anorexia, headache, back pain, neck pain, malodorous sweat, peculiar taste in mouth, and gut inflammation.

DESERET BIOLOGICALS CANDIDA ALBICANS SERIES THERAPY
Among the many organisms that live in the human mouth and digestive tract is the yeast Candida albicans, which under normal circumstances lives in 80 percent of the human population with no harmful effects. Overgrowth, however, results in candidiasis. Candidiasis, commonly called yeast infection or thrush, is a fungal infection of any of the Candida species, of which Candida albicans is probably the most common. Yeast organisms are always present in all people, but are usually prevented from "overgrowth" (uncontrolled multiplication resulting in symptoms) by naturally occurring microorganisms. Ingredients: CANDIDA ALBICANS, one vial of each in each of the following dilutions: (all in x) 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. Indications: For temporary relief of symptoms due to infestation of Candida Albicans.

DESERET BIOLOGICALS CHLAMYDIA SERIES THERAPY
Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the U.S., with about 4 million new cases yearly. Chlamydia Remedy has proven to be a safe and effective treatment for this disease. About half of all men and three-quarters of all women who have chlamydia have no symptoms and don't know that they have the disease. The disease is transmitted by the Chlamydia trachomatis bacterium. It can be serious but is easily cured if detected in time. It is also the biggest preventable cause of blindness in the world. Blindness occurs as a complication of trachoma. Almost half the women with chlamydia not treated by a doctor get pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), a generic term for infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries. PID can cause scarring inside the reproductive organs, which can later cause serious complications, including chronic pelvic pain, difficulty becoming pregnant, ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, and other dangerous complications of pregnancy. Chlamydia causes 250,000 to 500,000 cases every year in the U.S. Ingredients: CHLAMYDIA TRACHOMATIS & CHLAMYDIA PNEUMONIAE, one vial of each in each of the following dilutions: (all in x) 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. DESERET BIOLOGICALS CYTOMEGALOVIRUS SERIES THERAPY
A persistent fever accompanied by chills, fatigue, headache and general poor health may be indications of Cytomegalovirus (CMV). CMV is a common virus infecting people worldwide and is transmitted person to person via close contact. CMV is found in body fluids and is spread through sexual contact, blood transfusions, organ transplants and even breastfeeding. Hand to mouth contact within households and daycare centers or during playground contact can transmit CMV. Almost all people have been exposed to CMV by the time they reach adulthood and means that most everyone is a carrier. While a healthy immune system tends to hold CMV in check, a weakened immune system can allow the activation of CMV and cause serious disease. This can occur anytime in life, but most people never develop symptoms. Where symptoms do occur, they are usually manifest in three to twelve weeks following exposure. Infected newborn may experience severe infections at birth but generally are asymptomatic, however, over the next years adverse conditions may appear. Ingredients: CYTOMEGALOVIRUS; one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. . Also available in 1M and 10M (boxes of ten). : Urethritis, upper GU infection, prematurity Indications: Cervicitis, Vaginitis, Prostatitis, Conjunctivitis, Arthritis (especially in immunocompromised), URI, Pneumonia, Periodontal disease, extremely rapid onset of disease, HIV, Urethritis, upper GU infection, Prematurity. Note: Recent publications indicate that the genital mycoplasmas (M. hominis, M. genitalium and Ureaplasma urealyticum) can cause serious infections involving the respiratory tract, heart, blood stream, central nervous system, sternotomy wounds, and prosthetic valves and joints of infants and adults. Nanobacterium was first discovered in 1988 by a Finish biochemist named Olavi Kajander. In examining cell cultures that would die no matter the care taken in their preparation, he found organisms that resembled bacteria, but were one hundred times smaller, and seemed to thrive inside the dying cells. Kajander observed these nanobacteria with shells of calcium phosphate. His research found that these nanobacteria were at the center of kidney stones, aneurysms, calcified residue from ovarian cancer patients, and calcified artery samples. In studies at the Mayo Clinic it was determined that nanobacteria replicate themselves and are life forms. Ingredients: NANOBACTERIUM

DESERET BIOLOGICALS PARVOVIRUS SERIES THERAPY
; 1 vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. Indications: Kidney stones, aneurysms, calcified arteries. Conditions such as arthritis, certain rashes, aplastic crisis and Hydrops fetalis (which can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth) may be attributed to parvovirus infection. Parvovirus B19 (B19 virus) was the first human parvovirus discovered by chance in 1975 by the Australian virologist Yvonne Cossart. It gained its name because it was discovered in well B19 of a large series of petri dishes. Parovirus B19 is best known for causing a childhood malady, "fifth disease" (erythema infectiosum) or "Slapped Cheek Syndrome". Virology: The B19 virus belongs to the Parvoviridae family of small DNA viruses. It is classified as Erythrovirus because of its capability to invade red blood cell precursors in the bone marrow. Transmission: The virus is spread by infected respiratory droplets. The secondary attack risk for exposed household persons is about 50%, and about half of that for classroom contacts. Infectivity: B19 symptoms begins some six days after exposure and last about a week. Infected patients with normal immune systems are contagious before becoming symptomatic, but probably not after. Persons with B19 IgG antibodies are generally considered immune to recurrent infection, but reinfection is possible in a minority of cases. About half of all adults are B19-immune due to a past infection. Ingredients: PARVOVIRUS; one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5. DESERET BIOLOGICALS ROCKY MTN. SPOTTED FEVER SERIES THERAPY
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever Remedy is the most severe and frequently reported rickettsial illness in the United States. Rocky Mountain spotted fever can be very difficult to diagnose in its early stages, even among experienced physicians who are familiar with the disease. Infected patients generally visit a physician in the first week of their illness, following an incubation period of about 5- 10 days after a tick bite. Indications: The early clinical presentation of Rocky Mountain spotted fever is nonspecific and may resemble a variety of other infectious and non-infectious diseases. Initial symptoms may include: fever, nausea, vomiting, severe headache, muscle pain, lack of appetite. Later signs and symptoms: petechial rash (a minute reddish or purplish spot containing blood that appears in skin or mucous membrane as a result of localized hemorrhage), abdominal pain, joint pain, diarrhea. The classic findings for this disease are fever, rash, and history of tick bite. This combination, however, is often not identified when the patient initially presents for care. The rash first appears 2-5 days after the onset of fever and is often not present or may be very subtle when the patient is initially seen by a physician. Younger patients usually develop the rash earlier than older patients. Most often it begins as small, flat, pink, non-itchy spots (macules) on the wrists, forearms, and ankles. These spots turn pale when pressure is applied and eventually become raised. The characteristic red, spotted (petechial) rash of Rocky Mountain spotted fever is usually not seen until the sixth day or later after onset of symptoms, and this type of rash occurs in only 35% to 60% of patients with Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The rash involves the palms or soles in as many as 50% to 80% of patients; however, this distribution may not occur until later in the course of the disease. As many as 10% to 15% of patients may never develop a rash. Ingredients: ROCKY MTN. SPOTTED FEVER; one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5.

DESERET BIOLOGICALS VALLEY FEVER SERIES THERAPY
Coccidioidomycosis (also known as Valley fever and California valley fever) is a fungal disease caused by Coccidioides immitis or C. posadasii. It is endemic in certain parts of Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and northwestern Mexico. It resides in the soil in certain parts of the southwestern United States, northern Mexico, and a few other areas in the Western Hemisphere. Infection is caused by inhalation of airborne, fungal particles known as arthroconidia, which are a form of spore. The disease is not transmitted from person to person. Symptomatic infection (40% of cases) usually presents as an influenza-like illness with fever, cough, headaches, rash, and myalgia (muscle pain). Some patients fail to recover and develop chronic pulmonary infection or widespread disseminated infection (affecting meninges, soft tissues, joints, and bone). Severe pulmonary disease may develop in those with HIV. C. immitis was investigated by the United States during the 1950s and 1960s as a potential biological. The Cash strain received military symbol OC, and original hopes were for its use as an incapacitant. As medical epidemiology later made clear, OC would have lethal effects on several segments of the population, so it was later considered a lethal agent. It was never standardized, and beyond a few fi eld trials, it never became a weapon. Most military work on OC was on vaccines by the mid-1960s. Ingredients: COCCIDIOIDOMYCOSIS; one vial of each of the following dilutions (all in X): 200, 100, 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 6. Indications: Valley Fever, rash, myalgia, infections, headache, fever, cough, Coccidioidomycosis.
